Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) Lockstep State Reporting Mechanism

چکیده
This document is being published for the information of the community. It describes a non-IETF protocol that is currently being deployed in a number of products. Implementers should be aware of RFC 3015, which was developed in the IETF Megaco Working Group and the ITU-T SG16, and which is considered the standards-based (including reviewed security considerations) way to meet the needs that MGCP was designed to address by the IETF and the ITU-T.

Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) Return Code Usage
This document provides implementation guidelines for the use of return codes in RFC 3435, Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) Version 1.0. Return codes in RFC 3435 do not cover all possible specific situations that may ever occur in a gateway. That is not possible and not necessary. What is important is to ensure that the Call Agent that receives a return code behaves appropriately and consis...
متن کاملVertical Networks
This document describes an application programming interface and a corresponding protocol (MGCP) for controlling Voice over IP (VoIP) Gateways from external call control elements. The MGCP assumes a call control architecture where the call control ’intelligence’ is outside the gateways and handled by external call control elements. Arango, Dugan, Elliott, Huitema, Pickett [Page 1] draft-huitema...
متن کاملArchitecture and design of an enhanced H.323 VoIP gateway
This paper presents the architecture and design of an enhanced VoIP gateway, which is based on the H.323 protocol. The key characteristics of this gateway include: scalability separating signaling from media transformation and use of protocols such as MGCP/MEGACO for the communication between signaling part and media gateway; lightweight by using SCTP transport protocol to convey H.323 and MGCP...
متن کاملOPNET Implementation of Megaco/H.248 Protocol
The best-known media gateway control protocols are currently Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) and Megaco/H.248. MGCP, described as informational RFC 2705, has been widely deployed. Megaco/H.248 has evolved from MGCP. It is a single unified protocol that resulted from the cooperation between the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Mega...
متن کاملNetwork Working Group Media Gateway Control Protocol Fax Package
This document defines a Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) package to support fax calls. The package allows for fax calls to be supported in two different ways. The first one utilizes ITU-T Recommendation T.38 for fax relay under the control of the Call Agent. The second one lets the gateway decide upon a method for fax transmission as well as handle the details of the fax call without Call ...
